England cannot afford any slip ups when they travel to Rome to take on Italy in week two of the 2012 Six Nations tournament on 11th February. England start the match as firm favourites according to the bookmakers after beating Scotland last weekend, but they will be well aware that Italy managed to upset the odds against France last year. Italy will be playing Six Nations rugby in their new stadium, the Stadio Olimpico, after their move from Stadio Flaminio and the 80,000 plus seater stadium should provide an intimidating atmosphere.

Last Year: Italy 15 - 19 England- Saturday 11th February at Stadio Olimpico
A new look England were made to work hard by Italy as they made it two wins from two under caretaker coach Stuart Lancaster. It was a far from vintage display from the English in snowy conditions at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome - the first time Italy had played a Six nations match at the stadium. Italy were ahead after several English errors in the first-half as they went in 12-6 ahead at half-time and on the verge of a first win against England. However, England fought back impressively in the second half to win through 19-15, but English fans will be in no doubt that sterner tests lie in wait
The previous Six Nations results between the teams were as follows:

| 2011 | England | 59-13 | Italy |
| 2010 | Italy | 12-17 | England |
