Italy v Scotland

Italy v Scotland Betting Preview

Italy v Scotland has been a fixture that signifies the battle to avoid the Six Nations wooden spoon too often for both teams' liking in the past and it will be the same old story at Stadio Olimpico on Saturday 17th March 2012. It will be only the second Six Nations match that Italy are playing at their new Stadio Olimpico home after they opted to move away from Stadio Flaminio. Home advantage has counted for plenty in this fixture in the past and there is little to choose between the two in this year's match odds.

Last Year: Italy 13 - 6 Scotland - Saturday 17th March 2012, Stadio Olimpico

Italy won the Six Nations wooden spoon decider as they humbled Scotland 16-9 in Rome, leaving the Scots to take home the dreaded wooden spoon. It was a first Six Nations win for Italy at their new Stadio Olimpico home and followed up a fine effort against England at the same stadium earlier in the tournament.

The match with Scotland was level 3-3 at half-time but a Giovanbattista Venditti try gave Italy the edge and despite some late Scottish pressure a Kris Burton drop goal gave Italy a valuable and famous win. It was Italy's fourth win in the last five Six Nations matches with Scotland in Rome.
